About
Advice from someone who has carried the responsibility
I’m Jim Scholefield. Breezin Digital is my independent technology advisory practice.

Background
38 years inside global brands
For 38 years I led technology inside some of the best-known companies in the world. I began my career at Procter & Gamble, then held senior technology roles at Ford Motor Company and Northern Trust.
At The Coca-Cola Company, I was Chief Technology Officer. At Nike, I was Global Chief Information Officer. At Merck, I was Chief Information and Digital Officer. At Marriott International, I was Chief Information and Digital Officer for five years. Most recently, I was Chief Technology Officer of Legends Global.
I spent my career on the inside, accountable for the outcome. What I often wanted was an advisor who had sat in my chair and would tell me the truth, with nothing to sell. That is what I set out to be.
Today I work independently with executives, boards, and investors who want that kind of advice.
Board experience
Both sides of the table
From 2017 to 2020, I served on the board of directors of Stanley Black & Decker, including its Audit and Corporate Governance Committees. I know how technology looks from the boardroom as well as from the CIO’s chair.
For the past ten years, I have served on the Board of Governors of the Herbert Wertheim College of Business at Florida State University. I also served for six years on the Georgia Tech Advisory Board.
Recognition
Honors and education
I was inducted into the CIO Hall of Fame in 2025 and won the Capital CIO of the Year ORBIE Award in 2022.
I hold an MBA from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a BS in Management from Florida State University.
